What’s worse? Lying or being prejudiced?
If you google “aren’t we all a little prejudiced?” you will find it answers a resounding yes! Don’t you think this is interesting? Proponents of egalitarian values don’t say they have prejudices too. That’s too hard to explain, or is it a cop out?

This isn’t about me..
I’ve said many times that of course, I have biases and prejudices too. It’s daily, sometimes hourly, keeping those in check. But they are caveman type things in my brain that I don’t know why (as a good guy) we can’t talk about. It seems like it would be good to be truthful.
One time I made a person angry by saying we’re all racists. “The point is not acting on racist impulses.” Haven’t spoken since he (the “he” is important) reacted to that in a truly awful way. All I did was tell him what he would have found if he Googled. Also, he was totally a racist. lol.

Plan of action.
We have to ditch prejudice against folks with prejudice if we make it through this. It’s not honest. It’s just as bad as them. And, it’s not even real. It’s simply something we see in them we don’t see in ourselves yet.
It’s every day!!!
Checking myself daily doesn’t mean I’m only prejudiced against folks who are prejudiced. It means I see the urges, the caveman needs to be superior, and I reject all that. It is not necessary for survival, so I toss it. No matter who it is, you get individual judgement from me. Not hive mind blanket all this group are bad shit. (This is if I’m on my game, of course.)
The fact is I have bad days, instinctive thoughts, or even experience prejudice myself because of weight, mental health, and I routinely get called a dumb old white guy, (which used to bother me a lot but now it’s like a jack-off gesture when it happens). It’s hard to be on my game. But I try. I think that’s the best you get. If someone hasn’t made it as far as me, I think it’s my purpose to help them like folks helped me. This does not depend on which group they’re in. It depends on how I feel. They’re human, either way.

Most times they’re not KKK.
My experience with prejudiced people and my dealings with them doesn’t have to do with what I’m willing to admit to them. It has to do with what they’re willing to admit to themselves. I don’t have a say there. But I certainly don’t if I never speak to them again. Sometimes it can’t be helped that folks are too far gone down racist rabbit holes and I have to let them go. But most times it isn’t like that.
A history of bias, for real!
I can’t even trace the routes of racism in my family, area. It seems to spiral infinitely in the past. There’s no way it couldn’t linger in my psyche from all the bullshit I grew up with. Movies, school (I went to 33 schools growing up in Oklahoma, Texas, and Arkansas) home-life, friends, even on into the trucking, church, cleaning, and music industries..I’m not just going to “snap out of it,” that shit is deep. I’m not being hurtful when I say we all have bias, just realistic.

Equality itself is status.
Proponents of equality often talk about right and wrong and I just don’t see it that way. I think “in the know” somehow encapsulates my feelings on it. It’s on Google, after all. They’re being just as ridiculous as the biased folks they’re complaining about. Never googling where bias comes from, yet shouting “RaCiSt!” online is every bit as bad as shouting slang. At least I can tell you calmly, “Relax, we’re all racists.” (And be right about it.)
I think folks are worried about how they feel or how they’re seen if they cop to their own biases. This is not the point of equality. They can’t talk about equality if they aren’t willing to see in themselves what they’re seeing in others. There’s nothing equal in that. We have to make that easier for them. If we’re honest, we make headway. But no one is honest about this except Google. lol.
What needs to happen with the progressive movement.
I think it’s high time the progressive movement gets off its high horse and stops exploiting its most vulnerable members in favor of a world that’s never existed and not likely to. A step in that direction is acknowledging our own biases before pointing fingers.
Folks don’t like being called biased anymore than they like being called a racial slur. But it’s actually true about the bias. Why should that be so bothersome? Again, it’s a Google.🤷. AI knows more about human nature than most folks using AI. Bonkers.

Carry on, but it’s actually Science.
Sorry if it pisses you off if I think we’re all racists. Just going with Science on that one. I don’t make the rules.
Some lit on the topic:
“Prejudiced thoughts run through all our minds, the key is what we do with them.” From Ted.
Google AI find on the matter. “Aren’t we all a little prejudiced?”
