I like our new shit.
It’s been a while since I have looped back to more traditional sounding music. I brought a lot of things I’ve learned with me. I feel like the journey is what it’s all about. This song fortifies my feelings there. I think it sounds pleasant. I am proud of the work. I sincerely think there’s a good chance Kintners peeps will like it. It makes me happy.
The Journey.
I go out of my way to explore new areas I land in if I sense the opportunity. Since I have adopted this mindset, anywhere I land is great. There’s something to explore. I very much feel like a sonic explorer. I may not be discovering things for the first time, but I am discovering them for myself the first time. That’s close enough.
I hope you enjoy it.
Marc Schuster joined us on this song on drums. I had shown him the demo and he just sent me drum tracks. When kind folks do stuff like this, they insert a shot of adrenaline into the project. They help good folks do good things. They help momentum. Love you, Marc. Thanks so much.
Other than Marc, it’s Keri on harmony and me on everything else. I imagined a sparse tune starting out, like that ever happens. Once Marc sent the drums, I found the song took everything I dared to throw at it, with ease. It still feels nice, to me. Has a sway I go for, a lope. If I feel that sway, we’re in business.
Mixing and MaStErInG, haha.
As far as mixing goes, the multi-tracks are on the new Kintners Indie Repository if you wanna’ ever try. I am putting multi-track sessions for folks to use as well as the entire music library across all projects in a public folder on Google Drive. I don’t know why shit has to be so hard and expensive. I am in the “free and easy” camp. Enjoy. I mixed it. But now that I am done, you are welcomed to try whenever.
As far as mastering, I’ll skip it I think. I am not releasing big deal songs anymore. I am just tossing up in my repository or maybe youtube. “Some Folks” has no mastering, and I like it. So, done.
The Kintners Indie Repository
Happy to make and maintain a folder for the public with our catalogue, some art, some multitrack sessions, even chords and lyrics. I don’t need help with distribution from huge shady corporations, (except Google, I suppose). I don’t need your money. I don’t need folks sending me likes and thumbs up so I can feel good anymore. It’s just there for whoever wants to do whatever they want with. Sure it’s our material, but I hope for someone someday, it can be a resource. Even though this is smaller scale than bandcamp or streams, I feel like the chances are better it might assist someone. All about it.
HERE is link for repository. A page is also now onsite with link at the top and bottom of every entry. Enjoy.
Thanks, enjoy.
I appreciate people in my life who talk to me about music. Some of the music I make is specifically for those people. Thanks. I hope you enjoy it.
