Ten Commandments..really?
I’m in Texas right now, the state has recently paved the way for the Ten Commandments to be posted in classrooms and other school property. Quick question; why the fuck?
Haven’t we learned making kids dumber and more religious is bad for society, even bad for them? We have hardcore evidence of that. Plus, as a kid with a crazy religious mom in the south growing up, folks do not need the help.

What about the big JC?
But there’s also something contradictory to it as well, I mean, assuming you believe in the white Jesus.
According to your doctrine, the beatitudes takes the place of the commandments. Why not let kids in on the nice part of religion? I do not understand why Texas wants to post old school fire and brimstone “outdated” shit in classrooms to scare kids. It’s not even current Christian doctrine. Why do that?

Basically they’re assholes to your kids.
It’s because they’re assholes here in Texas and they like asshole things like telling folks to straighten their ship up without ever looking at themselves. You can be an asshole and still follow the commandments. It becomes harder with the beatitudes. Christ was tricky, in a lot of ways. He got “y’all” Texan politicians here. Score one for the J-Dog.

Are you calling Jesus a liar?
There is no New Testament text that says what Christ said isn’t true. So if that’s your book, why not use it? Are the beatitudes too liberal for Texas? Don’t you think that’s kind of messed up? I don’t have a religious horse in the race, I think it’s all hogwash. But it does concern me when religious folks oppress all the kids, and girls especially. The Ten Commandments don’t help there. But the beatitudes wouldn’t be as bad. That’s still their religion if they have the New Testament. They have to know that.
This was recorded live in a church. A lot of churches around here let you record in a big room for a donation. I find big rooms to be excellent for this kind of music, in particular.
“I don’t want to go to hell, Daddy!”
One of my issues with religion is when religious folks oppress people and their kids. One of my children wanted to be baptized in a baptist church at 8 years old because she was scared of going to hell. She was 8. Probably lots of reasons for Ten Commandments in classrooms wrapped up in that right there. By the way, you’re a fucking psycho if you tell kids about hell at 8 years old, psycho baptists. (Psycho Baptists is a great band name, you’re welcome.)

Kids are an easy scare.
Fear mongering to children is the lowest of the low. Kids are the “low-hanging fruit” of missionary work. I don’t care if your numbers suck, if the world is ending, if you truly feel it’s right, or whatever reason. There’s no excuse for fear-mongering other than maintaining control. And y’all can fuck off with that shit. It’s super cheap.
Update your rules, like yesterday!
Want to convince me you’re not into fear mongering and you’re really into Christ? Ditch the Ten Commandments. Go beatitudes. Otherwise you sound like old asshats who never heard of Jesus. Jesus’ whole thing was, “we do shit different now.” You fail to grasp that concept, even though it’s in the same fucking book! Did you just not make it that far yet?

Jesus was blue, pops is red.
“Jesus is a liberal, his dad is a MAGA,” is how these folks tell me they see the world. What does that mean if you’re a “Christian?”

The key today:
I’ll tell you, it means religion is filled with bullshit. Why not do what’s right by people? Obviously preaching ancient commandments outdated by the savior of your religion is politically advantageous. They’re kids. You bastards.

It’s about a tight grip. All it is.
Texas wants control, they’re preoccupied with maintaining it. If they destroy the psyche and intellect of the next generation, they’re locked in. That’s not Christian values. But it might be old testament ones. But understand this, without religion in my life, it all looks so fucking sad and stupid. Texas, in a nutshell.
