Don’t believe shit.
One of the things I do to help me get by is not believing as much as I can. I either know it or I don’t. This believing thing to me is out of hand. How does it help? By using the word “believing” you’re saying “it may not hold up but I’m sticking with it.” Like sports, your horse in the race.

Some beliefs.
Folks have told me all my life about Blaise Pascal and his sailing a ship to two harbors. It’s a bonkers way to be. “Might as well believe.” As if it makes god real.
Folks believe poverty in America is black, but it’s actually mostly white. Thanks, Reagan.
Folks obviously believe Trump has done something good in his life but there’s no evidence for that. They also are doing a little believing with the word “good” too.
Some folks believe they’re talking to people online when they’re actually talking to robots.
Some folks believe Latinos are invading the USA and taking our jobs.
Some folks believe the Epstein files are no big deal, how convenient.

Go on with your bad selves.
I don’t have any of these problems with belief. But I’m still loaded with them, I’m guessing. How could everyone believe so much shit and I believe nothing? I have to guess that I believe stuff. Just different stuff.
If I catch myself believing things, I try to quit it. But I can believe things without thinking about them. That’s probably why most folks believe things. They need the time required for researching for other things. It’s easier.

Or is that really the reason?
What if folks getting you to believe stuff was like a kid telling a lie about the cookie jar, just grown up version?
What if the amount of shit you believe has a direct correlation to the amount of freedom you have lost by believing it. What if that’s by design?
What if powerful assholes need you to believe they’re powerful or else they have no fucking power?
What if “believing” was in fact, subjugation painted to look like you’re flying “right?” What if “right” is a belief too?

You can choose not to believe too.
I choose to not believe. I either know or I don’t know. This saves me a lot of trouble in the navigation of helpful news and messages. It saves me from the self-flagellation of religion. It often saves me from being victimized in my adulthood the way I was in childhood. It also makes folks like Trump look like a big ole’ idiot. There’s no facts.
Silly Trump.
I didn’t watch the speech because I can’t listen to him talk. I think he’s a gross rapist and bloviates for fun. I don’t have to hear it. I did read the highlights though. I even saw a Republican wearing Trump’s portrait on his tie. All this is a dramatic amount of “believing” things.. I can’t hang.

Not so fast, Democrats.
Democrats don’t get off here. Many democrats believe things too. They believe they’re right a lot. They often believe they’re smarter. I’ve talked to democrats online who believe somehow all Texans are MAGAs. (More votes in Texas for Biden in 2020 than Trump.) I’ve talked to democrats who believe you should vote blue no matter who. Democrats in Washington even want you to believe what they say without looking at how they vote. (Ballotpedia) Why?

When you think “belief,” try thinking about “control.”
The older I get, the more I see folks getting off on control. I hypothesize most beliefs stem from someone wanting control. Like a lie.
If you believe something, it probably benefits another human. It’s not designed so you make it through your tough time. It’s designed so they make it through your tough time.
Control is a big deal. Many dudes hire sex workers not for the sex or companionship. They need to exercise control over people. If that’s inside so many dudes, it’s in church, politics, mechanics, music, wherever there’s dudes. Control is a goal. And they need you to believe things to get it.

Zap it.
When I find a belief still lingering around my brain, it’s easy now to see how that could be used to increase profits or control masses. I zap it.
Beliefs might get us by. But they don’t fix anything. The fact they’re still there means someone is pulling strings. They’re a commodity, really. We try on what works for us and buy it. The truth can be complicated or expose folks we want to look up to. So believing happens.

Here’s one that chaps my hide.
There’s beliefs like forgiveness that do real damage to survivors. Folks tell survivors they have to forgive to get better all the time. Even professional folks! It’s all bullshit. You don’t “forgive” your child rapist. Big ole gaslight. You’re absolutely not crazy for not wanting to forgive a pedophile. But they can make you believe you are. Lot of control there. Even folks who mean well think their belief of forgiveness applies to child sex abuse. It doesn’t. They’re actually in service of the abusers telling you that.
There’s all kinds of beliefs.
There’s lots of beliefs about AI and Technology in the arts or the work place. I tend to go with poor folks who are able to make shit with their brains and hands. There’s less believing there and more actual evidence of impact.

Remember proof?
The importance of evidence has been lost. Evidence is still out there, but how would you know with all the bullshit? Who is that serving? Believers? Want to talk about ocean front property in Arizona?
It’s a mind fuck.
Believing is mind control or it’s lazy or both. Final answer. I’ll be glad when all my beliefs are gone.
return home.
