It’s a valid question, (obviously).
Entitlement in psychology stems from the belief that you deserve all the great things you were born into, while likewise believing folks not as fortunate deserve their lot in life.
This can manifest itself in various ways. One form I’ve noticed lately is in policing and law enforcement. It sure doesn’t make sense to have a criminal president arresting so many people. But if he deserves better, well then… Many folks don’t realize the history of police in the U.S. is a history of entitlement. The “military industrial complex?” Entitlement.
What’s it like thinking you deserve wealth and folks born poor deserve that? How is it possible to travel anywhere, experience poverty, and walk away with that view? How is it possible to think this universe doles out what folks deserve? It’s a fantasy land. Entitlement.

Look, I can make up excuses why I have the wife of my dreams for 11 years tomorrow, (love you, Keri), but the fact is I’m lucky. I haven’t earned a human. That’s dumb. I have all the musical instruments I need for the next album and a DAW too! Good to go. Again, luck.🍀 . Sure I made decisions, but do I really deserve all this shit? Of course not.

Have you ever seen poverty and injustice? Why? It’s most of the world.
Maybe folks haven’t been to extreme poverty in the world. It’s not just starving that gets ya’. There’s no escaping it. Your kids might be picked up by the militia and recruited on their way home, but they gotta’ sell sodas on buses so everyone can eat.🤷. This is just merely poverty I’ve witnessed in one small corner of the world. Most of the world lives in poverty. The amount of injustice is staggering. The truth is no one deserves that. Not even poor folks.
Rich folks make you care about their numbers. Don’t do it.
Entitled folks can get other folks on board with their entitlement. I don’t know how they do it, but I’ve seen it done a time or two. Thinking about Trump here. But bullies always have friends. Sometimes they get clever and call that “growth.” What they mean is leverage. It’s disgusting.
I have even met poor folks who think Elon Musk deserves to be rich because of how smart he is. Entitlement has rubbed off on the impoverished. I hope they get help. But I’m willing to bet they can’t afford it.
Who lives with less, the poor?
One of the things we have to come to terms with is living with less. But in actuality, most folks really do deserve more. They just aren’t rich and famous. If they don’t know that, they likely deserve an education. No one has to suffer with a trillionaire around. We all choose it at that point. Entitlement. Works well for him.
Entitlement is reinforced by propaganda.
What does it take to make folks aware who complain about something like the Grammy’s and artists speaking their mind? You don’t have an event like ICE and Minneapolis and expect artists to shut up about it. That’s backwards thinking. These are people, not jukeboxes. Pure entitlement.
Just look at Batman. Imagine a billionaire beating the shit out of one poor person at a time and buying jets and gadgets when they could simply write a check and not leave the house. Want Elon as a super hero? It’s been batman a while. Entitlement.
Religion, OMG.
My last entry was about my rule on religion. Got some interesting emails on that. Plenty of entitlement to go around.
I suspect the folks who had an issue with the last post will take issue with this one. That isn’t my problem! That’s what they should think about. lol.
Entitled is not rich.
Many of us have been given the silver spoon, that’s not your fault. But your perspective is your fault. If you aren’t seeing massive injustice everywhere, I’d look at entitlement. There might be work there for you. Take care.
