There’s always work that’s fun around here.
I am helping on 5 songs for a buddy. It’s fun. We recorded together and now the mixing phase is happening. Very simple stuff mixing-wise. My main hurdle is me with it. Everything is there already and I keep wanting to throw stuff at it. But every time I do, I change my mind. Wish I didn’t have to go through that. But it is sounding great, regardless of me.
I’m all about that Boots…
Boots on the Ground (free code) is my main squeeze in my brain. I’ve become addicted to coming up with smart ass zingers aimed at politicians or wannabes. I jot them down in my phone for when I get to play music. Music happens. Album coming there and it’s actually kind of easy to write it. Feels great. Gets me going. Boots rules.
Speak, I will listen. (But it might take a few months. haha.)
A while back, I mentioned a spoken word project. I hear music when folks tell stories. It isn’t just subject matter that pops out at me. It’s the literal tones in their voice while speaking. I often hear complex musical phrasing when folks string words together. I intend to highlight that somehow. Haven’t quite figured it out. But some folks out there sent me beautiful spoken word pieces. I’ll start with those. If you have something, I’d be happy to try to show you how I hear it. I think there’s an album project there. Where them Kintners at?
The Kintners are both into Boots on the Ground. Not really a hiatus or anything. Just joined a friend and made protest rock. Happens.🤷. I blame dictators.
Would you like some guitar?
I’m very much enjoying a guitar amp. Should you need guitar (acoustic or electric), I’ve been having luck on guitar tracks for folks. I’m not a super skilled player or anything. But I’m a good listener. I can hear where I’m needed, guitar-wise. If I can help, I will. If I can’t I’ll let you know quickly. Have references for guitar, bass, and djembe. Thanks!🙏 [email protected]

I just like doing it.
I try to help folks with music. It helps me make better music for when I’m alone. If you feel I have a skillset that can assist your project, I’m happy to talk about it:
Djembe Funk is still around too!
Djembe Funk is still happening too. Got some stuff there. Kinda’ saving for a full length album. When I’m in that zone, I’m craving an album to put on and listen to. It doesn’t have a singles vibe to me anymore. Where that’s at.
Free Plugin (I use a lot) Alert!
…. Also, that reminds me…”Cramit” is a free plugin from Sixth Sample. It’s this tri-band distortion-compression thing. Highly recommend if you happen to want to toss some beauty juice on the djembe or other hand drums. If you’re into percussion and you record, try that thing. It’s simple, clean, and effective. It’s also free.

Sometimes I’m alright.
I have good days and bad days mixing still. Don’t know when that phase is over. But I just think some things take time. Lot to learn. I’m enjoying earning that if I err on the side of simple, my day is usually better. Could just be style of music I’m on. Could be a philosophical approach that helps me out. Whatever the case, it’s helping me now.

Thank you.
I’m super lucky to get to do all this. Most of my life, I didn’t have the time. Glad that’s different today. Thanks for listening.
