What’s with new songs from dead folks?
Blaze Foley and Guy Clark both now have had songs added to their Spotify library that weren’t them. They were AI. Deceptive too.
Why in the world everyone didn’t ditch Spotify when that came out? I can’t say. Must not like good dead songwriters?
Have you thought about switching?
At some point, it’s worth considering to not give assholes money if you can help it. Many times you can’t. Food likely has billionaires in its chain. Medicine, technology. However, when there’s more than one brand, there’s options.
You can buy from indie artists these days if they don’t give you a free code first. No middlemen. Spotify may be convenient, but it isn’t right. Please consider alternatives.

We kinda’ have a battle going on against asshole elites.
The rich bastards who took over count on you being inconvenienced by doing something right. Good to know that. It means you can easily inconvenience them too by doing it. This is a battle. When you say, “fuck it,” they win.

It is apathy, just not in politics.
Spotify may not care about improving their image because they make a lot of money being assholes and everyone knows it. They just say “fuck it.”
It’s a lot like non-voters. Apathy. Whoever wins has gotten folks to vote. Or they’ve gotten folks not to vote. See, trump didn’t win because of the folks who voted, he won because of the folks who didn’t. He’s got folks at least smart enough to figure that out. He can be disgusting because biased voters love it, and apathetic voters are encouraged by his behavior to stay away from politics.
Favorite John Craigie song.
Rich folks have been doing this a long time. John Craigie has a line in the amazing quietly intense tune called “Hustlin’” that goes, “Steal a lot from one person, they call the cops. Steal a little from everyone you rise to the top.” Craigie learned that from billionaires.

This isn’t a call for a boycott.
Sometimes, like I mentioned, you don’t have a choice. You have to do what’s right for your family. And liberals are obnoxious when it comes to boycotts. Boycotts don’t even work. Why? Apathy. But also, they just don’t make sense. I’m with the apathetic folks on this one. How does it make sense to bitch out poor folks for buying the cheapest thing? It’s not their fault.
See, boycotts are folks getting together to try to impact earnings of a huge asshole billionaire. But what they do if they’re successful is get the poor folks working for them fired. Billionaires will be fine. They invest somewhere else.
Key:
The goal should be for lawful income. Billionaires know this. They rob us and get us to blame each other. The goal is in law and politics. That’s where me and the apathetic folks part ways.
The “meh” people.
Back to Spotify, they don’t even hide how awful they are. They have fans, they have haters too. But they mostly have people who are “meh.” While that’s understandable, I wish you could somehow feel the impact of Spotify like the indie musician does. Perhaps you’d form an opinion you can live with. See, your Spotify isn’t the only horse in the race. If you are so inconvenienced by switching things up, you never do it.. Spotify loves you. Me, not so much. Can’t help it. In case you missed it, they make AI songs and make you think they’re from real folks, living and dead. No can do.
Consider action.
If you’re trying to make music better, it’s worth looking into laws and politics. Counting on a good guy billionaire to help music or a boycott is just not realistic thinking. But it works for them.
Return to home.

Sad Little Monster project.
I’m working with an amp and a new vocal style. Where I am at. Progress report.
