What is duty to an artist?
Musicians may not have a duty to free speech and expression when people are repressed and the government has gone the way of tyranny, but artists do.
It’s time for everyone to use what they have to end this nonsense. If you got a song, a painting, a book, graffiti, a rap, even a poem that speaks out against injustice, I’d love to see/hear it. I’m not the only one.
What about the less fortunate?

See, I have friends from all over the globe, in the LGBTQ community, in mental health communities, the disabled, and a lot of them are poor. Many of them have recently lost programs and benefits. It moves me to speak out, or sing out. I’ve made protest music before about the same asshat in power now, in fact. But it was 2016. Got a lot of mileage out of this, I guess. (WMP– a protest folk song if you’re interested).
It’s actually not about politics.
You may think I’m talking politics here. I ain’t. I don’t like politics in the United States because someone without money is always left out of the talks. Not to mention, in this last election, it was obvious they weren’t talking about mental illness. One of the candidates was crazier than anyone I’ve ever been in the hospital with. No mention of it from the “opponent.”
This isn’t about politics. It’s about thinking and acting accordingly. You may not realize it, but activism is also part of history. Sometimes the ship gets a tear in the hull, it takes everyone to fix it. “All hands on deck,” they taught us in the navy.
Our battles are against god and money. Fortunately both of those things don’t exist. Unfortunately, they’re tools in the imagination folks in power use to keep their slot. Much like writing a tune, it’s all in the head.
Manifest Destination
These people flying combat drones over an American city do not think of America the same way anyone else does. They obviously think we are a field ripe with opportunity like in the history books. They’re wiping out the indigenous again. They don’t realize we’re mostly poor Americans sick of their shit. They don’t even know what colors “American” means. They’re rich white dudes. All they want to see is a mirror.
Note to Democrats:
I was a Democrat forever. But now they’re part of the system that enabled Trump. I do not think it’s realistic to bank of democrats. They will cave. Every time. I watch their votes. Many don’t even talk the same way they vote! Check ballotpedia. It’s frustrating as hell.

What makes them legitimate in the first place?
The biggest tool these enemies have is fake legitimacy. See, nothing about their whole regime is actually legal. They cheated every step of the way. Bought judges. Bought elections on border counties. Bought voting workers and politicians. Intimidated all the way up to the candidate by telling everyone including Netanyahu there would be another insurrection if he lost. Faked an assassination attempt in Pennsylvania then capitalized on it despite real deaths. They even got Jesus in the mix. They have Christian organizations like Ziklag and The Heritage Foundation that require millions of dollars just to join. Also, they don’t pay taxes…remember about god and money?

It’s all over the news, or entirely missing from it.
They will use anything and everything to subjugate folks, and folks lap it up.
The news is a mess, notice that? I scan headlines a lot. There’s tons of questions not asked, as well as not answered. Why, for instance, didn’t major outlets talk about how crazy Trump is who is actually in office? Why does it even matter if Biden is nuts when his successor is nuttier than squirrel shit? 💩
Church is a mess too. They should consider doing right. As it is, they harbor and support predators. Not my thing. All churches, everywhere. Even the Dalai Lama (YouTube). No church.

Let’s get real.
I look for honesty and intelligence. My things. There’s a lot on sites like ProPublica, but it doesn’t come on the tube anymore.
I sincerely feel it’s go-time. It’s time to make the music that makes bigots squirm and stand up for those less fortunate, or it’s time to crawl in a hole and hope you’re right about heaven.
I’ve always been the music type.
Let’s make a protest music playlist for the site.
(Working on a Protest Music playlist on Bandcamp. If you got some protest music on Bandcamp, I’d love to add it. [email protected])
Return to home. (also a song).
