My first rant. You bet, it’s about god.
Folks I’ve talked to about god have a terrible issue with the burden of proof.
I’ve been asked more times than I can count to prove creation or prove god doesn’t exist. You see, I don’t have to do that.
Religious people tend to hold make-believe fruit in their basket and tell you to prove it isn’t there. I don’t even try. They aren’t looking for proof. They’re looking for validation. While I realize folks may need that, I am not one to pretend things to see to it. For me, validation requires the element of reality not present in religion.
Status Quo
Growing up in the south, church wasn’t about beliefs. Everyone could believe different things. They’d pick their beliefs from a cafeteria line of doctrine then take their seat. Church was about status. Church enables folks with a shot at being admired who have nothing outside of church to admire. In fact, many use their status in church as a shield to do terrible things. It has nothing to do with what they believe. It’s a haven for them to operate.
Just look?
I can obviously see nothing is there, so can everyone. No one in the history of the world has proven god. God hasn’t revealed itself. I don’t have to “prove” sh*t to be an atheist. I simply deduce based on evidence.
The burden of proof is on folks who claim there’s something there when there clearly isn’t. Or we are all f*cking crazy.
Don’t fall for it.
Someone wanted me to prove how the world was created. See, that’s why I like scientists. That’s their job, ask one of them. Made me curious to look it up though, and a lot has changed since I was a kid, evidence.
A lot has changed in religion in the south of the USA in that time too. Fun road to go down. Don’t forget Reagan. (Nancy too!)

Fellow atheists, when a believer asks you to prove what you don’t believe in, you tell them, “you first.” Chances are, since they haven’t done it by now, they got nothing.
(What has this got to do with music? Well, I’m a musician. But not much, admittedly. Sometimes the preachy folks get to me. Maybe it will wind up a song. It’s the new “Rants” category today. Sometimes I just need to rant, not above it. haha..)
