I am grateful for this service.
I discovered GET MUSIC a while ago when we were doing The Kintners stuff. Now with Boots on the Ground, I was able to get codes and distribute them here. We have hopping little new protest band and I’d like to thank Get Music. I have also utilized them for my solo Djembe Funk project. Fabulous results for all three and very different projects. It makes me grateful for Chuck and whoever else does this thing. It’s wonderful.

No tricks, (for once).
I have never known this outfit to be sneaky or tricky. That’s a big deal for me. You get what you sign up for. And you don’t get hammered with upsells. You don’t have to take a survey. You don’t accidentally sign up for a monthly fee. And it works, people click on your stuff. I think it’s the way things should be.

Not only does it help me as an artist on bandcamp…
I listen to mostly all indie stuff on bandcamp. I have an apple music, but rarely use it. It’s all bandcamp around here most days. For me, GET MUSIC is vital for checking out my peers, friends, and folks throwing stuff up. I am here for them. GET MUSIC makes that very easy, even fun. I can click on new music and snag what I want. No one minds, because that’s what it is there for. That’s what I am supposed to do. It’s fun. The newsletter is tons of fun when it comes. I’m a clicking fool.

These kinds of things build real community, not just numbers.
The impact of GET MUSIC on me has been all positive. I get spins on my new little protest classic rock outfit, and I get to listen to indie music from all over the world. None of this costs much money at all. There’s no recurring monthly draft. There’s no sense that there should be. It works like it is. Thank the stars. It may be shared on social media some, but it isn’t a social media. It’s more like a flea market. I dig that.
I’ve met other bands I love thanks to GET MUSIC. It wasn’t about their profile, wasn’t about their pics or posts, I clicked on their music, liked it..and got curious. I worked at my pace of discovery. It’s a huge deal to me. It’s how I wish most things operated.

If you make songs, like songs, or like being curious, check this out.
Bandcamp is valuable to me, but GET MUSIC is right up there with it. I enjoy learning about bands and checking them out. I have enjoyed that since I was a kid and today it’s never been easier or more rewarding. I have hundreds, maybe thousands of downloads from browsing the newsletter and reading about music that piques my curiosity. There’s no cost for the “shopping” aspect, but there’s plenty to buy when I get money. I like lining that up in my brain with the freebie given. Many times, I find myself not listening to a whole album until I save up and buy it. Then, I get a sensation very much like coming home from the record store with loot. That’s kinda’ all I want in this life, most days.

Thank you, Get Music.
I’ve heard from over 50 people about our Boots on the Ground project that dropped less than a week ago. I don’t have socials. I don’t spend any money on promo. It is protest classic rock. It’s a niche thing. To get 50 people talking in less than a week is huge for a band like this. The only thing I did was put it on Get Music and play my ass off on the recording. It feels like the way things would work if they worked well. I am all about that. So, thanks, Chuck & company, I am a huge fan of your service. Lifer.
It’s important to me.
The internet is full of services, contracts, and busy work that you don’t get paid for. You don’t get candy in the mail (thanks, Sweetwater Music for spoiling me). You don’t get any money. And you are supposed to take an uptick in some number as a reward. I have said goodbye to all that. I still love GET MUSIC because I get turned on to conversations surrounding music with other indie fans or artists. I get a ton of free music too. That’s priceless to me. That’s all I really ever wanted the internet for to begin with. Glad for it.
