Just (re)introducing myself, no big.
I’ve been at this website since May and I figure it’s about time to introduce myself again because there’s always folks who don’t know in that amount of time. If you know all of this, sorry. But I’m willing to bet out of the 3 thousand of you or so that now read this, most of you don’t.

Back in 1977..
I was born in Oklahoma City. Growing up we didn’t have a lot. However, I learned fairly early on that we had more than most people in the world because my father took me with him to Guatemala when I was a teenager. The lessons learned there still roll in at a steady clip 30 years later.

A little bit Bipolar, (or sometimes a lot Bipolar).
I’ve struggled with relationships my whole life until about 10 years ago when I got psychiatric treatment for bipolar disorder among other things. Since then I’ve been learning and making music. My brain has been my friend. Lithium.
Music for me is about friends doing something fun and useful together, all it is.
I like collaborating with folks for music most of all. I feel like when musicians get together and make an album some people like, they might as well have built a rocket in the jampad and taken it for a spin. I love musicians and musician friends, more than anything. It’s why I do this.

My time with Keri has been the good part so far.
Keri and I have been together a while now. She is a lyrical force that’s amazing to be around. She can simply move words in a sentence to make it hit better. Seen it happen many times. She wrote the lyrics to the song, “Picking Flowers,” and it’s still one of my favorite songs for lyrics. She has a gift of putting the listener in different places. I’m a fan.

I say “we’re on a journey” a lot.
I say we’re on a journey a lot. I don’t expect I am the same person I was in May when I started this thing. That’s by design. I believe in improving if I believe in anything. I’d be disappointed if I hadn’t changed at all. I grant folks I meet the same opportunities. I hope next time I see them, they feel improved, even if I don’t like them. I just think it’s my deal now. But maybe later, it will be something else. I’m open to it.

I like talking.
In this website, my goal was to meet folks and have conversations. I don’t care much for conversations on a big chat or social media. I prefer to talk one on one. I am bothered by my tendency to perform on social media. I can’t be the only one. That’s not talking. So, for now, one on one. Email welcome at [email protected].
I am not on social media, by the way. Just here, BandCamp, YouTube, SoundCloud.. I prefer to talk to folks in email. It’s just working for me. Thanks.🙏
I hope you enjoy reading these short entries. I’ve come to depend on writing them. It works out. Thanks!
My newest jam is called Djembe Funk. I’m experimenting with djembe and funk rock. It’s all free. I don’t expect a huge demand for the stuff. It’s just there if you’re curious. Maybe you have a djembe and a computer and you want to make noise. Might be handy in that case. I just think it’s a necessary step to where I am headed and you are welcome to listen if it’s useful or fun.
I’m available for talking or working on music 24/7. Thanks.😊
Return to home.
