I don’t think we need preachers as politicians, on either side.

It’s good to talk, or is it?

James Talarico and Heather Cox Richardson had a chat recently. Now, I like a lot of what both these cats have done. But instead of talking about that, they talk about Jesus. Ugh.

I actually kind of like these folks. But when jesus come up my eyes roll like a slot machine win.

How do you run against Jesus?

The way to beat Jesus is not with a Democrat version of Jesus. In my personal journey, I discovered Jesus to be inherently bad, no matter what kind of political light is shed on him. I don’t think he is the answer or savior. I think he’s a dick.

Many, many democrats do not realize they worship the same Jesus republicans do and it’s kind of funny.

It is fine to not like assholes.

I need folks to vote for who feel like I do about Jesus. I do not want him at state dinners, the Whitehouse, hell, I don’t even want him at high school football games.  Folks want him everywhere and it drives me bonkers. Even the bedroom! Crazy shit.

Jesus said he was with god according to the good book. The whole time, since the beginning. What a dick! Did he say, “hey pops, lay off Job.” Or “think that flood thing is a good idea?” Instead he opted to come down to this world, saying he’s a sacrifice. Well, fuck you, Jesus. What’s that make the rest of us? He said the only way to salvation was through him. Jerk. Why? Is that some rule you made hanging out in heaven with god all those years? Hate it. On and on, problems with religion. It gets me going. I wish it didn’t. But they’re in office ruining lives, including mine, based on what Jesus tells them. Really fucking stupid and it’s annoying as hell.

To me this song is the auditory embodiment of revolution and protest. I’m also a big fan of the bassist.

God (even if he existed) doesn’t give a shit about your personal politics, gimme’ a break.

I have mega-issues with Jesus and churches and their involvement with politics concerning money and policy. I don’t think church should be let anywhere near politics. But nowadays, it’s very difficult to talk about one without talking about the other, as HCR and Talarico displayed. That’s by design. It makes folks think god is on their side in politics. Huge step backwards. All HCR and Talarico did in that interview was justify god, not their own ideas or intent. I don’t fucking want or need that.

All that said, go Talarico, (for now).

I still might have to vote for Talarico. But I’m not happy about it. He’s just that much better than republicans in Texas at the moment. I don’t want to get deported to Germany or England. Or the Sudan. Actually, about Europe..

The key for me in politics, next sentence.

Key:

I’d like a candidate that appealed to my intellect, not my biases. Is that so fucking hard?

How about working for the folks paying for you with tax dollars?

Leave god at home. While you’re working, I need you to be a big kid. Folks depend on you. That’s more important than your personal walk with Jesus. If you’re not able to see that, there’s top flight jobs waiting for you in other industries. Church always needs a preacher. Fuck.

Return to home.

Made a happy jam recently, enjoy!

I’m Kelly and I like making jams with guitar, bass, and djembe… enjoy.
