It’s impossible to be a “good guy” white guy unless you’re telling other white dudes to chill out on the bullshit. Yes, you heard me. IF you’re aiming to be a good person, you must do good things. That is how it still works.
I’ve met tons of bros who keep to themselves, don’t get involved, like to stay chill. That’s your choice. However, don’t expect respect for being “good.” You aren’t. You may think it, but that isn’t the same thing. It’s what you do with your thoughts that create you. Not that you just merely think them.
Everyone knows racism and sexism are wrong except white dudes. Ever think about why that is? As a white dude myself, I feel I got an idea. My biggest issue is laziness. I do a whole lot of music and writing. But, I am reluctant to talk to folks in person about serious things because it requires effort and commitment. I’m trying to do it because I do not want to squander all my good thoughts to myself. I want to share them and get feedback and possibly do projects. I want to hang out. Also, I wouldn’t mind making some kind of small difference.
I like to admit my weaknesses because it helps you get to know me quicker than fluffing my resume. I’m not applying for the job of being anyone’s friend. I’m just airing thoughts in public. I figure the internet is full of people who have qualifications folks look for in online friends. I think in the cool neighborhoods, you aren’t picky like that. I mean, they’re right there and earn a similar wage most likely. You’re more stuck together. I feel that way online with whoever I cross paths with. Respect is key. What does this all have to do with being a white dude?
So many white dudes I know complain to me about being victimized or persecuted. They blame whole segments of the population for their issues. They project. Call names. I knew a white guy one time that wouldn’t talk to women with tattoos. I thought it was pretty specific. But we’re like that.
If these white dudes would get out in the public they are such professionals on they might have an easier time once they realize the playing field is all over the map and some folks need a hand. It’s been good for me to get out recently and help clean things, work the studio for a friend, eat with relatives, even shopping. It becomes less work to take in new things and ideas after a while. You kinda’ get in shape. At least it is how it worked for me. Good luck on that.
White dudes I talk to ignore the news a lot. Some even preach it. They’re saying, “If I don’t know, I don’t care.” I sincerely doubt this to be the truth. If a fucking squad of white dudes beats down your door and ships your ass to Nigeria where you have never been, you care….but white dudes..They are conveniently ignoring the truth, not just the news. I see the reasons, sure. But that automatically means you are not a good person. A white dude has to be a good person, right?
