butter being spread thinly over toast

Are we spread too thin as musicians?

I just got a newsletter from a band. At the bottom were 8 different links to click on to see or hear them, or sign up for email which I was reading. Or maybe their thoughts. Maybe art or reviews. Ever thought about consolidating all that to one place?

There’s an appeal to me to having a “one-stop shop” where you can hang with us. Getting a little of us here or there mixed with everything else feels diluted and competitive. But this site here is like my own little place. Everything Kintners.

I’m not doing anything but sticking my thumb out on the information superhighway. Only need one thumb.

I think people want musicians to come to them, their streamers, their imaginations. It must be easy these days to get your favorite musician, like speed dial. I don’t operate that way. Sorry about your bad luck. I just have a website and a BandCamp.

When we spread ourselves thin, we run the risk of becoming diluted. It’s okay to not be everything to everyone. What matters is you’re something to someone.

Our songs are stories, feelings, and melodies. Those things aren’t popular at the moment to begin with. Not much I can do about that. But I can still make them for the few of us who like them. I’m totally cool with that. Friends know where to go to get them. They don’t even cost anything. Thanks.🙏
